Our story
Hi, I'm Concetta, the maker behind Bloom Retro.
I grew up in Catania, Sicily, surrounded by the sea and the breathtaking landscape of Mount Etna, Europe's highest and most active volcano. Living so close to nature shaped the way I see beauty, and its organic forms, textures and colours continue to inspire my jewellery today.
After moving to Liverpool to study Interior Architecture, I realised that although I loved design, art and creativity, I didn't want to spend my life behind a computer. I wanted to create with my hands.
Bloom Retro was born from that decision.
Every piece starts with a spark of inspiration. Sometimes it's a shell, sometimes a vintage find, and sometimes simply a beautiful new material. I follow the idea wherever it leads, shaping each piece by hand until it becomes something truly unique.
When I'm not making jewellery, you'll usually find me wandering through charity shops, searching for beautiful objects with character and stories of their own. That love for discovering hidden beauty has always been part of who I am.
Family means everything to me. Although Liverpool is now home, a part of my heart will always belong to Sicily. Whenever I can, I return to Catania to spend time with my family and my two little nieces, who remind me to slow down, appreciate life's little moments, and keep seeing the world with curiosity.
I hope every Bloom Retro piece brings that same feeling to the person who wears it.
